This site has been established to support the Tasmanian Surveying and Geospatial Conference 2025.

The conference is organised by the Tasmanian Spatial Information Committee (TASSIC) and the Institute of Surveyors Tasmania (IST) and made possible through general seed funding from the Surveyors’ Trust.

The Tasmanian Surveying and Geospatial Conference 2025, typically held in October or November each year, along with the State of GIS Conference, typically held around May each year – are long standing events on the Tasmanian circuit, with origins dating back to the 2000’s.

These events have been held under the banner of various iterations of our national representative bodies, inlcuidng the Spatial Sciences Institite (SSI), Surveying and Spatial Sciences Institute (SSSI), and more recently the Geospatial Council of Australia (GCA).

Over the same time period, right here in Tasmanian, we have TASSIC and IST, a strong UTAS Surveying & Geospatial research and education programme, and many individual leaders that have achieved great success on the national and even international stage.

Now, we come together, as we always have, as a strong and resilient Tasmanian Geospatial Sector driving innovation, growth and opporuntity for people, government and industry.
